NI colleges provide courses ranging from basic literacy and numeracy through to vocational and academic areas at levels up to degree and degree equivalent standard.
On 1st August 2007, Northern Ireland’s 16 Further Education colleges merged into six new super colleges.
The creation of these larger and more influential colleges is just one aspect of the Government’s strategy for further education.
